Fidelity is an art exhibit showcasing various vinyl record packaging through out the years. It’s purpose is to show appreciation for physical products, and showcase the various kinds of packaging designs that have been used for many decades. The logo draws references from the grooves found on actual vinyl records. The whole branding design draws references to vinyl packaging. In the advertising posters, I did not want to focus on album covers specificaly, as the exhibit is all about the entire packaging. Instead, I wanted to draw focus to the other elements of the packaging, and to showcase aging and wear, since vinyl records are a physical product meant for regular use. The color pallatte used through out the advertising and catalog design is based on vintage color schemes from the 60’s. The catalog cover was based on old 45’ sleeves from the 50’s and 60’s that relied on a lot of geometric shapes in the sleeve art.
